An Invitation to Explore

Step into a calming, immersive sound experience and discover the beauty of the handpan.

This 3-part workshop series invites you to slow down, listen deeply, and connect with rhythm in an intuitive and accessible way. Whether you’re completely new or simply curious to explore sound more deeply, this is a space to gently arrive and create.

Both grounding and playful, this experience offers a chance to reconnect with your creativity, soften the mind, and be guided by sound.

What You’ll Experience

Across three sessions, you’ll be guided through the foundations of handpan playing, building your confidence with rhythm, melody, and intuitive technique. Each session offers a complete and accessible experience, even if you can only join us for one.

You’ll explore:

  • Foundational handpan rhythms and touch techniques

  • Flowing patterns and musical phrasing

  • Improvisation and creative expression

  • Collaborative group playing

Participants joining the full series will have the opportunity to develop a simple handpan composition to take with them.

About Your Instructor

Luisa encountered the Handpan for the first time in 2016, an experience that would shape the next decade of her musical path. She traveled to Europe to learn from some of the world’s leading handpan players, immersing herself in the instrument’s emotional and expressive potential. For over ten years, Luisa has explored meditation and sound as a pathway to presence. She brings this embodied understanding into her teaching, creating a supportive and inspiring space where students can grow their musical understanding of this unique instrument.

Luisa sees herself as a bridge for those who have long been intrigued by the Handpan but unsure where to begin. In her workshops at Sew Handpan School, she shares practical, easy-to-learn techniques that allow you to begin playing melodies and rhythms right away. She believes that everyone is musical, and that learning the handpan is not only about playing an instrument, but about cultivating presence, sensitivity, and attunement, all essential qualities for everyday life.
