Marlis Vos
Senior Apparatus Teacher
Marlis comes to us with a wealth of experience, knowledge, and energy. She is fully certified in all Pilates equipment and Classical Repertoire through Physical Mind (2006), with advanced training in Rehab Through Pilates (Centre D’Osteopathie et du Pilates, 2009) and CoreAlign (Balanced Body, 2010).
Introduced to Pilates at age 13 through her dance training, Marlis went on to study at SFU’s Interdisciplinary Arts program and pursue a professional dance career in Toronto. There, she trained with leading dance artists, Pilates instructors, and movement therapists, deepening her understanding of the body in motion.
As a teacher, Marlis integrates current body science with classical Pilates, incorporating functional movement principles, fascial studies, and intuitive, practical applications. Her work focuses on simple, effective solutions that support mobility and ease in everyday life.
Having recovered from a serious back injury herself, Marlis values Pilates as a powerful therapeutic practice that supports healing, resilience, and long-term wellbeing across all stages of life.
